Tandragee Gate Lodge is a beautifully restored self-catering cottage located in the heart of County Armagh Northern Ireland. Once a gamekeeper's residence, this early 19th-century listed building has been tastefully refurbished to include modern comforts such as full central heating, making it a perfect retreat for visitors. Nestled on the edge of Gosford Forest Park, the lodge combines historic charm with a tranquil setting.

Guests enjoy complimentary access to Gosford Forest Park, which boasts a wide range of activities including walking, cycling, and horse-riding. The park is home to unique attractions such as the Arboretum, the Deer Enclosure, and Rare Animal Breeds Collection, offering something for everyone to explore.

Conveniently located just 7 miles from the historic Cathedral City of Armagh, Tandragee Gate Lodge serves as an excellent base for discovering the area's rich heritage. Nearby attractions include the two Saint Patrick’s Cathedrals, the burial site of Brian Boru, Navan Fort, the Armagh Observatory and Planetarium, the County Museum, the Robinson Library, and the Mall with its stunning Georgian architecture.

Our cottage garden is a beautiful outside space—whether you’re greeting the morning with a steaming coffee at the garden table or unwinding in the evening under a canopy of stars with a nice hot chocolate. Perfect for lazy afternoon picnics, and cosy, tucked-away corners made for losing yourself in a good book. Fully enclosed and wonderfully peaceful.

playhouse but please check and report any problems.

Before you leave, please:

  • Rubbish: Place any tied bin bags into the outdoor bins located by the garage.
  • Utilities: Ensure all lights, appliances, and heating are turned off.
  • Security: Lock all windows and doors, and return the key to the owner before departure.

 

Booking Duration & Deposit

£50 deposit required for a weekend
£100 deposit required for a week stay

Cancellation Policy

Because we are a small, independent property, late cancellations significantly impact us. 

  • Full Refund: Cancel within 48 hours of booking, provided the cancellation occurs at least 14 days before check-in.
  • No Refund: Cancellations made less than 14 days before arrival are strictly non-refundable.

Payment by Bank Transfer preferred. Details supplied at booking request.

Smoking & Vaping

  • Strictly Smoke-Free: Smoking, vaping, and the use of e-cigarettes are 100% prohibited inside the lodge.
  • Designated Area: If you smoke outside, please use the designated outdoor areas and dispose of cigarette butts safely in the provided outdoor bins.

Noise & Neighbors

  • Quiet Hours: Please respect our neighbors by keeping noise to a respectful minimum between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
  • No Parties: Tandragee Gate Lodge is a peaceful retreat. Large gatherings, parties, and events are strictly unauthorised.

Occupancy Limits

  • Only the guests listed on the original booking reservation are permitted to stay overnight.
  • Visitors during the day are welcome, but please let us know in advance. The maximum occupancy of the lodge is 5 guests and must never be exceeded.

 

Pet Policy
Maximum of 2 well behaved dogs are welcome! Pets must stay downstairs and owners should supply their own pet's bedding. We ask that they stay off the furniture and beds, are never left unattended in the lodge, and that you clean up after them in the garden.

Care of the Property & Cleanliness

  • Shoes Off: We kindly ask that you remove muddy shoes/boots at the entrance to protect the flooring.
  • Accidents Happen: If something breaks or spills, please let us know right away. We won't be mad—we just want to fix or replace it before the next guest arrives!
  • Bins: Please use the appropriate recycling and general waste bins provided.

Security & Utilities

  • Locking Up: Please ensure all windows and doors are securely locked whenever you leave the lodge.
  • Energy Saving: To help us stay eco-friendly, please turn off lights and turn down the heating when you are out exploring for the day.

Compliance:
Please note that violation of these rules may result in the immediate termination of your stay without a refund, or deductions from your security deposit.
